PH Embassy Participates in  ASEAN+3 Bazaar in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY 10 August 2022 – In celebration of the 55th ASEAN Day, the Philippine Embassy in Mexico, together with other resident ASEAN Embassies (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam) plus Japan, Republic of Korea and China, participated in the recent ASEAN + 3 Bazaar at the Teatro Angela Peralta, Miguel Hidalgo, Mexico City on 07 August 2022. 

The ASEAN Bazaar + 3 Bazaar is one of the activities organized by the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) under the chairmanship of the Republic of Indonesia as part of its efforts to bring the regional organization closer to the Mexican people.

The day-long event, which showcased the rich and diverse culture of each of the participating Embassies, was attended by more or less 1000 international guests who had the opportunity to taste the region´s varied culinary offerings, as well as to purchase traditional artisanal products. It also served as a venue for tourism promotion for the participating countries.

The Philippine Embassy proudly featured its artisanal products from all over the country such as weaved bags, scarves, weaved jackets, etc.  In addition to Philippine handicrafts, the Embassy also sold some popular Filipino food, including chicken adobo, pancit canton guisado, lumpia, turon, lechon kawali, puto, buko pandan and melon juice.    

For its cultural presentation, the Embassy performed the following folkloric dances: Asik, La Jota de Moncadeña, Salakot and Tinikling.
