New PH Honorary Consul to Queensland Takes Oath of Office

CANBERRA 12 August 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega administered the oath of office for Atty. Sheryll L. Gabutero as Philippine Honorary Consul to Queensland on 08 August 2022.

This officially re-opens the Philippine Consulate in Brisbane to serve more than 51,000 Filipinos in Queensland. The Consulate shall be under the consular jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Canberra.

The Honorary Consul is responsible for promoting and protecting the interests of the Philippines in Queensland. It is also her duty to protect the rights and promote the welfare of Filipino citizens in her consular jurisdiction. While honorary consular offices are able to offer a range of services, passport renewal may only be served by full Philippine consular offices in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.

The Philippine Consulate in Brisbane will open on 01 September 2022:
