rome5a06 June 2014 - Filipino youth Catreyell Dolor led his Lazio school team to win the 2014 Italian National Scholastic Chess Team Championship held in Palermo from May 22 to 24.

 

On May 30, Philippine Ambassador to Italy Virgilio A. Reyes, Jr. personally congratulated Catreyell for his achievement in leading his team and making the Philippines proud in the process.

 

The Philippine Embassy in Rome, in cooperation with the Filipino European Migrants International Chess Academy ( FEMICA), continues to support and encourage young Filipino chess players to excel in chess competitions both in Italy and in international events in Europe.

FEMICA has thus launched its program "Search for the Future Filipino Chess Grandmaster" by conducting chess clinics and tournaments to encourage our Filipino youth to play chess.
