PH Ambassador to Thailand Joins All-Women Delegation to APEC Annual Women and the Economy Forum

BANGKOK 14 SEPTEMBER 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Millicent Cruz Paredes joined the all-women delegation of the Philippines to the annual APEC Women and the Economy Forum (WEF) on 07 September 2022 in Bangkok. 

Ambassador Paredes attended the Forum’s Opening Session, in support of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary for Regional Operations, Ms. Blesila A. Lantayona, as Head of the Philippine delegation. 

The Philippine delegation was composed of officials from the Philippine Commission on Women, Department of Foreign Affairs’ APEC National Secretariat, and the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok. 

Ambassador Paredes served in various capacities in the Philippines’ APEC National Secretariat throughout her diplomatic career, including during the country’s APEC Chairmanship in 1996 and 2015.  She was the Vice Chair of the APEC Budget and Management Committee in 2015 and Chair in 2016.

Ambassador Paredes was part of the Philippine delegation to the APEC Women and the Economy Forum and related meetings in 2013-2015 chaired by Indonesia, China, and the Philippines, respectively. END
