PH Embassy in Bahrain Assists Four Distressed Filipinos in Returning Home

MANAMA 15 September 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Bahrain, assisted four (4) distressed Filipinos in returning home via Gulf Air’s direct commercial flight from Manama to Manila on 13 September 2022.

The Embassy facilitated the repatriation and shouldered the airfare of all the repatriates through the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Fund of the Department of Foreign Affairs. The repatriates consisted of overstaying OFs, including a female OF with a medical condition, and a male OF who had been in Bahrain for almost forty-five (45) years and who also had a medical condition.

The Embassy also arranged airport assistance to the OFs upon their arrival in Manila, in coordination with the Office of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). END
