PH Embassy in Brussels Hosts After-Work Networking Reception

BRUSSELS, 16 September 2022 – In line with its public diplomacy program, the Embassy of the Philippines in Brussels in collaboration with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Brussels (PTIC-Brussels), the Office of the Agricultural Attaché, Brussels, and the Department of Tourism Office in Frankfurt hosted an After Work Networking Reception on 06 September 2022 at the Embassy garden for its contacts and friends from the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, the diplomatic corps, and other organizations.
Philippine Chargé d’Affaires to Brussels Pablito A. Mendoza warmly welcomed the guests who were delighted to reconnect and make new links in a convivial setting, face-to-face after two years of online exchanges. Mr. Mendoza said, “We hope to make this a regular activity to engage with our partners in a more relaxed setting for closer, stronger, and more productive cooperation.”
Guests were treated to an array of Filipino dishes such as fish lumpia, chicken barbecue, chicken adobo, sinigang rice, pork, and tuna sisig, pancit palabok, ensaladang talong with mango, leche flan, and biko. Philippine products such as pickled mangoes, coconut milk, ube powder, red and brown rice, and coconut water were on display courtesy of the Office of the Agricultural Attaché. A bar showcasing Don Papa Rhum, set up by Mr. Glen Remaekers, Ambassador and distributor of Don Papa Rhum, served cocktails made with Don Papa products.
Each guest went home with a souvenir bag containing Philippine tourism brochures and a box of pralines made with Philippine cacao with calamansi, coconut, and mango fillings created by award-winning Belgian chocolatier Jerome Grimonpon. END
