PH Premium Coconut Products Showcased in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR 11 October 2022 – The Philippines participated in the Selangor International Expo - F&B 2022, which opened on 06 October 2022, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.
A delegation composed of the Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau and Philippine manufacturers and exporters of coconut, coffee, and cacao products showcased their premium products in the Philippines’ Coconut Pavilion, where interested buyers gathered to inquire about their products, get samples, and conduct business matching activities.
The Philippines is expecting to attract USD 4.5 million worth of sales and investment leads from foreign buyers, given the increasing consumer demand for healthier food. Malaysia is also known to be a big consumer market for coconut fruit and coconut products.
The opening ceremony of the Philippines’ Coconut Pavilion was led by Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Charles C. Jose, together with Commercial Counselor Norjamin G. Delos Reyes of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Kuala Lumpur. The Pavilion featured a total of 16 exhibitors: Amazing Foods Corporation, Benevelle Corporation, Cocoplus Aquarian Development Corporation, Federation of Peoples’ Sustainable Development Cooperative, Fruits of Life, Inc, Greenlife Coconut Products Philippines, Inc, JNRM Corporation Pasciolco Agri-Ventures, The Superfood Grocer Phil. Inc, Tongsan Industrial, Development Corporation, TreeLife Coco Sugar, Wellnesscare International Corporation, Project Beans Trading, VerraCoffee Inc, and MS3 Agri-Ventures Corporation.
In his message to the exhibitors, Ambassador Jose highlighted the importance of the coconut industry in the Philippines, the second largest producer of coconut products in the world, and the need to promote it as many Filipinos depend on the country’s coconut industry.
“It’s about time that we introduce and promote our coconut products to the Malaysian market, which has a strong purchasing power”, Ambassador Jose said. “Malaysians are discerning as consumers, and I am confident that with the products that you have, which are not just visually attractive in terms of packaging but also excellent in terms of content, Philippine coconut products will be able to penetrate the Malaysian market”.
The four-day Selangor International Expo (F&B) is an influential trade exhibition that focuses on the global food and beverage industry. The expo, alongside the Selangor International Business Summit 2022 and the 4th Selangor International Culinary Festival, is hosted by the Selangor State Government through Invest Selangor Berhad.
