PH Ambassador, Heads of ASEAN Missions in Cairo Discuss Furthering ASEAN and Egypt Relations

CAIRO 25 October 2022 — On 20 October 2022, Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Ezzedin H. Tago and Heads of ASEAN Missions in Cairo held a special event discussing ASEAN as a regional intergovernmental organization, its accomplishments and challenges, at the Institute of Diplomatic Studies (IDS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo.

The event was hosted by Amb. Walid Haggag, Director of the IDS, and was attended by Amb. Ayman Kamel, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands Affairs, along with diplomatic attachés currently enrolled in the IDS. The ASEAN Ambassadors in Cairo shared information on the status of their bilateral relations with Egypt, regional security challenges in the region, as well as the contribution of ASEAN to the global economy.

The event aimed to raise awareness on ASEAN in Egypt and to discuss opportunities to further the bilateral relations with Egypt. END
