MANAMA, 27 October 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, successfully repatriated 16 distressed Filipino nationals, including three detainees and a family with three minor children, on 20 October 2022 via Gulf Air.

The Philippine Embassy facilitated the repatriation and shouldered the airfare of all the repatriates through the Assistance-to-Nationals Fund of the Department of Foreign Affairs. The Embassy acknowledged the assistance extended by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior, particularly the National, Passport and Residence Affairs, in the issuance of the exit permits of the repatriates.

The Embassy also coordinated with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration on the provision of airport assistance and local transport assistance to the repatriates upon their arrival in Manila. END
