PH Embassy, WomenBizPH Discuss Women Empowerment Activities for Filipinos in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, 14 October 2022 – Women’s Business Council Philippines’ (WomenBizPH) Chairperson Ms. Mylene Abiva and members Sarah Deloraya-Mateo and Ms. Rhoda Castro-Caliwara called on the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh on 13 October 2022 to introduce their organization and explore collaborations with the Embassy and the Filipino community in Cambodia for promoting entrepreneurship, especially among Filipino women.
Third Secretary and Vice Consul Frances Louissa Cleofas welcomed them and provided an overview of the Filipino community in Cambodia, Philippine businesses and products in Cambodia, and possible women empowerment activities.
Composed of top women leaders and entrepreneurs, WomenBizPH advocates for women economic empowerment especially those in the MSME sectors, serves as a platform to discuss women’s issues in business and possible government policies, and promotes women-led and owned enterprises. It is the private sector partner of the Philippine government, particularly DTI and PCW, and represents the Philippines in APEC and ASEAN events.
Ms. Abiva, President of FELTA Multi-Media Inc., is an awardee at the ASEAN Special Awards for Women Entrepreneurs 2022 held on 13 October 2022 and organized under the 2nd ASEAN Women Leaders’ Summit in Phnom Penh. END
