PH and Indonesian Embassies in Muscat Co-organize Fun Walk 2022 to Raise ASEAN Awareness

MUSCAT, 08 November 2022 — The Philippine Embassy in Muscat co-organized the ASEAN Fun Walk 2022 on 04 November 2022 with the Indonesian Embassy, the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM), to raise exposure of the regional group in Muscat.
The Fun Walk was opened by the ASEAN Heads of Mission and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Saif Al Hosni, Head of ASEAN of the Oman Foreign Ministry, at the beachside behind Foreign Ministry.
Over 100 participants from the Embassies of the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Thailand and the Consulate-General of Singapore walked the 2.7-kilometer route, past the Foreign Ministry and one of Muscat’s most recognizable landmarks, the Royal Opera House.
The Fun Walk 2022 ended at the Indonesian Embassy, where each Mission served food from their respective countries: the Philippines featured lumpiang shanghai and lumpiang gulay; Indonesia gave out bubur ayam and bakso; Brunei Darussalam introduced kuih lenggang, pulut panggang, bingka ubi kayu, binga susu, kek batik; Malaysia shared mee goreng, kuih seri muka; Thailand had chicken curry sandwiches; and Singapore handed out pandan chiffon, ondeh ondeh, kuih dardar, epok epok, kuih salat.
In true ASEAN Way, there was also a lucky draw and karaoke. A fun day was had by all participants, and all look forward to more ASEAN events in future. END
