ny3a10 June 2014 - the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) participated in the 26th annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City from May 17 to 20. 

ny3bThe 15-member Philippine delegation, promoting the Design Philippines brand, was led by multi-awarded furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue.  Other Philippine brands represented at the ICFF were Ann Pamintuan, Atelier-A, Catalina, Contemporaneo, Industria, Ito Kish, Kenneth Cobonpue, Lightworks, Masaeco, Mayumi, Natureworks, Prizmic& Brill, Schema, Tadeco Home, andVito Selma.

Design Philippines is a branding initiative that positions the Philippines as a sourcing destination for finely designed products for the global market.  It displays the creativity and originality of a globally competitive and passionate Filipino craftsmen and designers. 

ICFF is a major event in North America for global design and luxury products.  This year’s edition attracted 629 exhibitors and 31,421 attendees.  Nearly 30,000 interior designers, architects, retailers, designers, manufacturers, developers and distributors from more than 30 countries joined the event.

Leading CITEM were Ms. Rhea Matute, Project Manager, and Mr. Matt Celeste, Pavilion Architect.  This year marked the return of CITEM in ICFF after 13 years.

The Philippine Pavilion that housed the various exhibits of Filipino designers was designed by Mr. Budji Layug, an international furniture and interior designer. END
