MANAMA, 28 November 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, successfully repatriated 12 distressed Filipino nationals, including two detainees, undocumented OFWs and an infant, on 23 November 2022 via Gulf Air.

Their repatriation was made possible through the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Fund of the Department of Foreign Affairs that covered the airfare expenses of all the repatriates.

The Embassy acknowledges the assistance extended by the National, Passport, and Residence Affairs and the General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the issuance of the exit permits of the repatriates.

The Embassy’s Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Office coordinated with OWWA-Manila on the airport and other assistance for the repatriates upon their arrival in Manila.

The Embassy advises Filipinos in the Kingdom of Bahrain needing repatriation assistance to contact the Embassy as soon as possible. END
