12 June 2014 - An eight-member delegation from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) led by Rear Admiral Romeo Santiago O. Nebres participated in the 2014 MakaniPahili Training Exercise in Hawaii. MakaniPahili means “Strong Wind” in Hawaiian.
The training exercise aims to test the hurricane and disaster preparedness of the various agencies of the government of Hawaii, and all its armed services. The AFP delegation was invited to observe and test the Regional Catastrophic Plan of the Philippines.
The training exercise was held in cooperation with the U.S. Army and the Hawaii State Civil Defense. END
