Meeting of Port Moresby Officials with Papua New Guinea Police Officials on FilCom Cooperation and Partnerships

PORT MORESBY, 23 January 2023 – As part of the Philippine Embassy’s efforts in securing better protection for the Filipinos living and working in Port Moresby, Embassy officials met with NCD Central Divisional Commander Assistant Commissioner Anthony Wagambie, Jr. and NCD Central Deputy Commander A/Chief Superintendent Laimo Asi to discuss police and Filipino Community cooperation and partnership on 16 January 2023.

Commander Wagambie said that while the police work in reviving the Diplomatic Protection Group, diplomats in Papua New Guinea may contact him directly in case of emergency. Their office is also working to create a WhatsApp group with focal point from each Embassy.

Commander Wagambie also encourages anyone to report to him any incident involving policemen as he does not condone any illegal activities. END
