HONG KONG, 09 February 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong participated in the 32nd Education & Careers Expo (Educ & Careers Expo) held from 02 to 05 February 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Educ & Careers Expo is organized by the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC). It is an annual event that serves as a one-stop platform that provides the latest information on education, training, and career development.

The theme of this year’s Educ & Careers Expo is “Ride the Wave to Success.” It hosted about 700 organizations that provided materials on opportunities for study in more than 20 countries. It also introduced several employment opportunities to job-seekers, including more than 2,800 job openings and several on-site job interviews.

The Career-themed Zone of the Expo explored the latest career trends, particularly those under the following themes: Vocational and Professional Education Training (VPET)-Skilling Talent for the Future, Greater Bay Area (GBA) Opportunities, Exploring Construction Industry, and Slasher Generation which is about an emerging workforce involving those who engage in multiple jobs at the same time.

The Education-themed Zone of the Expo, on the other hand, is comprised of the Local Studies Zone, the Overseas & Mainland China Education Zone, the Lifelong Learning Zone and the Youth Zone.

The Consulate’s booth—located at the Overseas & Mainland China Education Zone—featured study opportunities in the Philippines, particularly in the tertiary level.

College and universities in the Philippines adopt international standards in terms of programs and curricula, with English as the medium of instruction. They also provide extensive support network and career guidance to their students.

The affordable tuition fees and living expenses also make studying in the Philippines an attractive alternative for foreign students.

On top of it all, studying in the Philippines give students the chance to experience both the natural beauty and cultural diversity of the Philippines. This is cultural education at its best, imparting life-long learnings that contribute to its people’s optimistic and resilient nature.

This year’s Philippine booth at the Educ & Careers Expo was co-presented with Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) through its representatives led by Dr. Jose Maria Edito K. Tirol, Director of Office Admission and Aid. END
