PH Consulate General in Los Angeles Hosts Coffee-Tasting Event

LOS ANGELES 13 February 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles hosted a coffee-tasting at its premises on 09 February 2023 featuring kapeng barako or barako coffee. The event was aimed helping the local community to enjoy one of the country’s best kept secrets: good, flavorful coffee.

LAPCG partnered with Mr. Ferdinand B. Soriano, Co-Founder of The EmPHorium, Mr. Ron Dizon of Teofilo Coffee Company, and Trade Commissioner Eric Elnar, PTIC-LA in organizing the event.

More than 20 participants from around Southern California representing Filipino-American, American,  Korean  companies  representing owners, CEO, managers, associate, consultants of restaurants/coffee shops, coffee wholesaler, food broker, beverage retailer, food brand manager, etc., attended the event. Also among those who attended were the following individuals/manufacturers who gladly supplied the Philippine coffee and related products that were showcased during the event were Mat Maderazo and Jose Alvaro Severino Nito of Planters Exports Philippines; Merlo Agricultural Corporation of brand Batangas brew Mercado coffee and Café de Lipa barako; Dalareich Chocolate House (Bohol Chocolate Princess), manufacturers of GINTO chocolate bars and tableya.
