ABU DHABI 14 February 2023 — Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso A. Ver met with three Filipino community groups on 10 and 11 February 2023 in the UAE to reach out to the Filipino community in the UAE as he completes his first month since assuming his new role.

Amb. Ver administered the oath to the officers of IECEP‐UAE led by Engr. Rafael Lontoc, IECEP‐ UAE Governor and chairman of the Board on 10 February 2023 at the Sentro Rizal of the Philippine Embassy in the UAE. Later that day, the officers of PICE‐UAE Chapter led by Eng. Manuel Papasin, PICE‐UAE 2023 Chapter President paid a courtesy call on Amb. Ver. On 11 February 2023, Amb. Ver attended as Guest of Honor the induction of new members of Abu Dhabi UAE Sandigan Eagles Club, and the chartering of the Sandigan Lady Eagles Club.

Amb. Ver lauded the professional groups IECEP and PICE, and socio‐civic group Fraternal Order of Eagles. He said that as they build their own lives in the UAE, working hard for their families, he is thankful that they have not lost sight of the value of pursuing a higher, nobler cause, that of serving voluntarily, giving their own time, effort and resources to work for the good of their fellow members in their organization and for the good of the greater Filipino community in the UAE. The Ambassador said this is a calling, looking after fellow Filipinos in their respective profession/organization, which redounds to the good of the entire community.

He reiterated his message that he is not alone as Ambassador of the Philippines to the UAE, for he shares this responsibility with all countrymen. He reminded everyone that each Filipino carries the flag wherever he goes, that doing well as they carry out their responsibilities at work, in their organizations, at all times, brings glory and honor to the Philippines. He said that as the Embassy continues the work of expanding cooperation and friendship between the Philippines and the UAE, the Embassy remains committed towards supporting their efforts, and thanked them for their service to their community and to their country.
