PH Ambassador Joins Partners' Meeting to Support the Palestinian National Employment Strategy

AMMAN 02 March 2023 — The Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Wilfredo C. Santos, attended the Partners’ Meeting to Support the Palestinian National Employment Strategy held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Amman on 23 February 2023.

The event was organized by the Palestinian Ministry of Labor, in collaboration with the Palestinian Prime Minister’s Office, and in partnership with the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Arab Labour Organization and the Government of Germany.

The Palestinian Employment Strategy 2021-2025 seeks to strengthen labor market governance by aligning all related interventions to generate more jobs and achieve decent work for all in the State of Palestine, particularly for youth and women.

The Ambassador witnessed as well the signing of a new Palestinian Decent Work Programme (DWP) for the period 2023-2025 by the ILO, the Palestinian Ministry of Labor, the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

Also in attendance were various stakeholders, partners, UN agencies, Palestinian businesses and trade unions, as well as members of the diplomatic corps. END
