PH Embassy Invites PH Companies to Jordan at Gulfood Expo 2023

AMMAN 02 March 2023 — In a bid to expand trade relations between the Philippines and Jordan, the Philippine Embassy, represented by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Angeli Payumo, attended the Gulfood Expo 2023 on 21 February 2023 held at the World Trade Center in Dubai.

Vice Consul Payumo met with the various Philippine manufacturers and exporters who participated in the expo to promote Jordan as a viable destination for Philippine-made products. Apart from the sizable Filipino community in the Kingdom, the wider Jordanian market remains an untapped opportunity for Philippine companies intending to expand their reach in the Middle East.

“Philippine cuisine and products have a place in Jordan. Our tropical fruits and vegetables, as well as our savory dishes, that have been hailed as world-class would definitely appeal to the Jordanian palate,” Vice Consul Payumo highlighted.

Gulfood is considered as the world’s largest annual food event with more than 4,000 exhibitors across one million square feet of exhibition space, featuring more than 120 country pavilions, including the Philippines. The 2023 expo is its 28th edition. Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry, a total of eighteen (18) Philippine manufacturers and exporters participated in Gulfood under the FOODPhilippines brand. END
