MANAMA 10 March 2023 –The Philippine Embassy, under its Repatriation Program, facilitated the repatriation of a Filipina mother and her three children to the Philippines on 06 March 2023 via Gulf Air. She had been in Bahrain for 13 years and was undocumented for almost the same length of time.

Through the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Fund of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy shouldered the cost of the repatriation expenses including DNA testing, airfare, immigration penalties, and other related expenses. The Embassy also facilitated the issuance of the necessary documents and secured the clearance of her case with the police prior to her repatriation.

The Embassy acknowledges the assistance extended by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Ministry of Interior, and other relevant Bahraini authorities in the repatriation of the Filipina mother and her three children.

The Embassy, through its Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) office, likewise coordinated with OWWA-Manila on airport and other assistance to the Filipina mother and her three children upon their arrival in Manila. END
