Ambassador Romualdez Highlights Significance of Strong PH-US Relations for the Indo-Pacific and the World

WASHINGTON, D.C. 13 March 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel G. Romualdez was the guest lecturer at the Institute of World Politics (IWP) held at their campus in Washington, D.C. on 09 March 2023. The Ambassador elaborated in his lecture what is in store for Philippines-US relations, particularly on bilateral engagements, foreign policy priorities, global and regional security challenges, the PH-US alliance within the context of the Indo-Pacific, and prospects for future relations. He also underscored the focus of both countries in the field of security, trade and investments, and most importantly people-to-people exchanges during the Q&A session.
“In the midst of geopolitical realities, especially in our part of the world, the Philippines and the United States are at a juncture where important relations call for heightened and balanced security alliance and economic engagements. Without doubt, having a strong bilateral relationship between our two countries will contribute to regional peace, stability, and security in the Indo-Pacific area”, said the Ambassador in his remarks.
The IWP is an independent graduate school founded to fill a major national need: to supply professional education in statecraft, national security, intelligence, and international affairs that no other school offers and that few people acquire except through an entire career of on-the-job experience.
