Ambassador Ver, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Vow Closer Ties as PH-UAE Relations Celebrate 50th Anniversary Next Year

ABU DHABI 14 March 2023 — Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso A. Ver met with H.E. Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State (MOS) responsible for economic and trade affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), on 13 March 2023. 

The two discussed avenues for further heightening the excellent bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE, including the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) hopefully before the year ends. Cooperation on climate change and renewable energy were also discussed between the two sides, as the UAE hosts COP28 this year, and as the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE is celebrated next year.
