PH Ambassador to Jordan Receives AFP Delegation from the Philippines

AMMAN 15 March 2023 — Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Wilfredo C. Santos received a delegation from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on 09 March 2023 at the Philippine Embassy.

The said delegation was composed of four officers from all branches of service of the AFP, namely: BGEN Acmad Omar, Jr. and COL Paulo Teodoro of the Philippine Air Force, COL Nephtali Padua of the Philippine Navy Marines, and LTCOL Dreztan Colot of the Philippine Army. The officers were in Amman to participate in the Senior Officers Security Studies Course organized by the Canadian Armed Forces and in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces, held on 05 to 09 March 2023. 

While in the Kingdom, the AFP officers took the opportunity to meet with Ambassador Santos and other officers of the Embassy to discuss several topics including the promotion and enhancement of security and defense cooperation between the Philippines and Jordan, through the respective memorandum of understanding adopted by the two countries. Discussions at the meeting also covered the planned bilateral meetings and possible joint training between the AFP and JAF-Arab Army in the future. Lastly, they talked about the AFP modernization program, and other security issues in the region. END
