PH Damascus Personnel Donate Blood for the Syria Earthquake Victims

DAMASCUS 15 March 2023 — Philippine Embassy in Damascus, headed by CDA John G. Reyes, donated blood to the Syrian Ministry of Defence-Military Blood Bank on 12 March 2023, for the victims of the earthquake that hit Syria on 06 February 2023.

While other countries have flooded Syria with humanitarian aid, Post’s personnel resorted to donating blood instead as Philippines’ tangible and modest donation to respond to Syria’s earthquake-related blood requirement. Such a personal, costless, and selfless act, unexpectedly, was well received and highly appreciated. 

The blood donation of Philippine Embassy in Damascus personnel was conducted with the help of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, as well as the Director of the Military Blood Bank, Major-General Ammar Salameh. END
