11 July 2013 - Mr. Max Balatbat, Filipino contemporary visual artist, participated in the International Art Exhibit Annuale 2013 organized by the Museum of Young Art (MOYA) in Vienna under the patronage of Dr. Michael Hauptl, Mayor of the City of Vienna, Austria.
The MOYA Annuale 2013 opened on July 01. It is a prestigious annual international art exhibition in Vienna with the objective of promoting international cooperation and exchange in the field of culture and the arts. It provides an avenue for contemporary young artists from all over the world to showcase their artistic and unique style through their artworks.
The opening of the MOYA Annuale 2013 was attended by the diplomatic community, business community, academe, museum patrons and the Filipino community in Vienna. This year’s participating artists came from Andorra, Canada, Colombia, Hungary, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Ukraine.
Mr. Balatbat is a recipient of many international awards, including the II Magnifico Silver Award in the 7lh Florence Biennale in December 2009. To date, he is the only Asian who won in this prestigious competition. END
