PH Ambassador to Argentina Participates in the Fundación Bice Seminar on Economic Opportunities in the ASEAN

BUENOS AIRES, 20 March 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to Buenos Aires Grace T. Cruz-Fabella joined the other Heads of Mission of the ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires (ACBA) in a seminar called “Con La Mirada Al Pacifico” (Looking at the Pacific) on 15 March 2023 at the Fundación Banco de Inversión y Comercio Exterior (BICE).
The seminar, jointly organized by Fundación BICE, the MERCOSUR-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce (MACC), and the ACBA, included a panel discussion on opportunities for closer ties between Argentina, MERCOSUR, and ASEAN.
Addressing an audience composed of exporters, academicians, and other entrepreneurs, Ambassador Cruz-Fabella and other ACBA members. Thai Ambassador Krit Tankanarat, Malaysian Ambassador Nur Azman Rahim, Vietnamese Ambassador Thanh Duong Quoc, and Indonesian Chargé d'Affaires Sasanti Nordewati, delivered country presentations. The Philippines delivered its presentation entirely in Spanish.
Mr. José Ignacio de Mendiguren, Secretary of Industry and Productive Development of the Ministry of Economy and former BICE President, served as the keynote speaker. He remarked: "The relationship that unites us with the countries of Southeast Asia is complementary and what we hope to achieve now is that it will be balanced. If we achieve that, it will be a permanent and sustainable link. We trust that we can do it and close as many agreements as possible." The ACBA regularly works with partner institutions to raise awareness of ASEAN and explore opportunities for closer economic and cultural cooperation. END
