17 June 2014 - About 150 Filipinos in Fujian celebrated Labor Day through a sports fest on May 01 at the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS).

Organized by the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX), the event was attended by the personnel of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen and their families, FAX members, MXIS faculty members and students and other Filipinos in Fujian. 

In his opening remarks, Philippine Consul General Julius Flores lauded FAX in its efforts to organize the sports fest, which aimed to foster friendship, unity and camaraderie among Filipinos in Fujian.  

As venue host, MXIS President and Engineer Roman Go, welcomed all the participants and wished them a fun-filled day.

The whole-day event consisted of games of badminton, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, inflatable boat paddle race, billiards and tug- of- war. The participants were loudly cheered by the crowd which added more fun and excitement to the sports activities.

The Red team took home the Championship while the Blue team garnered runner-up honors.     

Consul General Flores awarded the trophies to the winning teams and medals for all participants. END
