PH Ambassador to Norway Meets with Ullensaker Mayor

OSLO, 22 March 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to Norway Enrico T. Fos had a very productive discussion with Ullensaker Mayor Eyvind Jørgensen Schumacher on matters of mutual concern such as on health care workers and cultural and social integration during the former’s courtesy call in the municipality’s town hall on 16 March 2023.

The two officials also discussed the need for more healthcare workers in Ullensaker, as the municipality is envisioned as a major urban center which combines environment-friendly areas and walkable areas, and is expected to attract workers and families looking for alternatives to Oslo in the next few years.  

They also discussed upcoming community activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of bilateral relations between the Philippines and Norway and the 125th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence, as well as the possibility of the involvement of the Filipino community in Ullensaker in the municipality’s programs and initiatives.

Ullensaker municipality is a multi-ethnic community in Norway's Upper Romarike region in the south, with around 30 percent of its roughly 42,000 population tracing their roots from other parts of the world. It is home to some 334 Filipinos and Filipino-Norwegians. END
