PH Embassy Donates Books to the Philippine Collection of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library in Dubai

Ver, the inclusion of the Philippine collection to UAE libraries is a firm step towards promoting awareness and understanding the Filipino heritage and narrative, as one of more than 200 different cultures thriving and growing in the UAE. ABU DHABI 22 March 2023 — The books donated by the Embassy were from the Center for Art, New Ventures & Sustainable Development (CANVAS), a non-profit organization based in the Philippines that works with the creative community to promote children's literacy, explore national identity, and deepen appreciation for Philippine art, culture and environment. In turning over these books to MBRL, Amb. Ver expressed hope that these literary works would create bridges of understanding between PH and UAE youth through culture.
“The more that we, peoples of different nations and cultures build ways to understand each other through knowledge sharing, encouraging our youth to open their eyes and learn to accept, appreciate and acknowledge other cultures, the more we give the next generation hope for a better future,” said Ambassador Ver in his message at the event.
The book donation is a flagship program of the Philippine Embassy under the banner of Sentro Rizal Abu Dhabi. END
