New PH Tourism Destinations Introduced at Holiday World 2023 in Prague

PRAGUE, 24 March 2023 – “We welcome you to visit the Philippines and experience its rich history, diverse culture, culinary and tourism destinations, and hospitable people” said Philippine Ambassador-designate to the Czech Republic Eduardo Martin R. Meñez as he opened “The Philippines: It’s More Fun with You” Business Networking Meeting with Czech and foreign tour operators and media representatives at the Holiday World and Region World 2023 at PVA Expo Praha on 17 March 2023.
He also assured them that the Philippines is a safe and peaceful country for tourists.
In their presentations, Philippine Tourism Officer Jamille Francine A. Concel and Dr. Samuel Bernal of Globetek Tourism highlighted the reasons for visiting the Philippines and the recommended destinations and activities (e.g., adventure, sports, culinary, medical tourism) in the country.
Michaela Lechnyrova, Senior Leisure Account Manager of Qatar Airways, and Vincent Soriano, Managing Director of Airline Promotion Group – Czech Republic and Slovakia, presented international flights from Prague to the Philippines (with ports of entry in Manila, Cebu, and Davao) and domestic flights in the Philippines, respectively.
On its third year of participation, the Embassy of the Philippines in Prague introduced new tourism destinations to local and international visitors to the Philippine stand at the 31st edition of the said international tourism and regional tourism trade fairs which concluded on 19 March 2023.
While traditional destinations, such as Palawan, Cebu, Bohol, and Boracay continued to be of interest to travelers to the Philippines, prospective visitors were introduced to Northern Mindanao (Home of Limitless Adventures), the Cordilleras (The Highland Region of the Philippines), Central Luzon (The Culinary Hub), and Surigao and Dinagat Islands.
On the last day, Dr. Bernal presented to the public Cultural and Culinary Tourism in the Philippines which highlighted regional cultures and cuisines.
This year, a total of 306 exhibitors from 26 countries participated in Holiday World and Region World 2023, and about 28,000 visitors came during the fair. END
