PH Ambassador Ver, TESDA Meet to Discuss Honing Skills and Competitiveness of Filipino Workers in UAE

ABU DHABI 29 March 2023 — Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso A. Ver held a meeting with TESDA on 27 March 2023 to reinvigorate bilateral cooperation in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training between the Philippines' TESDA and the UAE's National Qualifications Centre (NQC).

Ambassador Ver highlighted UAE officials on multiple occasions have conveyed their great appreciation for the Filipino peoples' contributions in helping build the UAE's foundations from more than fifty years ago until now, clearly seen in the  Filipinos' strong presence in all aspects of UAE life.

He affirmed the Embassy's commitment to help TESDA and the NQC fully maximize its TVET cooperation through a revitalized MOU that will help spur the recognition of accreditation and qualifications of their respective skilled nationals, among others.

According to Amb. Ver, "I always encourage my fellow Filipinos in the UAE to firmly maintain their professional and technical edge and advantage, while we at the Embassy commit to facilitating TESDA and NQC linkages to ensure cooperation on accreditation as well as qualifications between the two countries. This will help ensure that for decades to come, as the one million-strong Filipino population in the UAE grows, they will remain relevant and much-sought after here in the UAE." END
