MANAMA 03 April 2023 – During this period of Ramadan, the Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, assisted and repatriated 12 distressed Filipino nationals, including four minors, on 30 March 2023 via Gulf Air.
For the first quarter of 2023, a total of 26 Filipinos have already been repatriated by the PHL Embassy through the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Fund of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The Embassy arranged all the documents and clearances of the repatriates, and shouldered the costs of their airfare, immigration penalties, and other repatriation expenses.
The Embassy’s Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Office also coordinated with the relevant Philippine government agencies to ensure airport assistance to the repatriates upon their arrival in Manila.
The Philippine Embassy acknowledges the assistance extended by the Bahraini authorities in facilitating the repatriation of the 12 Filipino nationals. END
