Chula World Film Series 2023 Culminates with Filipino Award-Winning Film Ma’ Rosa

BANGKOK, 11 April 2023 – Chula World Film Series 2023 concluded with a bang featuring the film “Ma’ Rosa” on 30 March 2023 at the Dr. Tiam Chokwadhana Auditorium, Faculty of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University.

Directed by Mr. Brillante Mendoza, “Ma’ Rosa” was nominated for the 2016 Cannes’ Palm D’Or. Veteran artist Jaclyn Jose who starred in the film won the Best Actress award – the first Filipina and Southeast Asian recipient. 

The film screening was attended by Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes, officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy, the diplomatic community, officials of Chulalongkorn University, students, and film enthusiasts. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with Director Brillante Mendoza through the virtual question and answer session that followed the screening. END
