MOSCOW, 18 April 2023 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) through the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation, facilitated the repatriation of a 39-year-old Filipina in Yerevan, Armenia, who suffered a stroke last year.
The Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) was declared by medical professionals in Yerevan to have 1% chance of full recovery or gaining mobility of limbs. She was confined at a hospital in Yerevan for one (1) year, with her medical bills paid through the DFA’s Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Fund. She slowly recovered from her condition and has been determined to be medically fit to travel.
All expenses related to her repatriation, including airfare, ground ambulance, medical escorts, and all documents and clearances, were paid for and arranged by the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, with the assistance of the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Yerevan.
The overseas worker arrived in the Philippines and was reunited with her family on 15 April 2023. END
