PH Ambassador Meets with the Namibia Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO) Officials

WINDHOEK 20 April 2023 — Philippine Ambassador to South Africa Noralyn Jubaira Baja met on two separate occasions with Ambasador Sabine Böhlke-Möller, Deputy Executive Director for Bilateral Relations, and Ambassador Jerobeam Shaanika, Deputy Executive Director for Multilateral Relations of the Namibia Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO) on 14 April 2023 during her official visit to Windhoek, Namibia.

On the bilateral front, both sides agreed it was time to reinvigorate relations, which were formally established on 17 May 1996. The establishment of a formal mechanism for policy consultations is seen as the first step in this direction. A briefing on the structure of MIRCO's multilateral department provided useful information on which issues of common interest are covered by said department. END
