PH Amb. Ver and Masdar CEO Alramahi Commit to Work Together in Realizing Renewable Energy Projects in PH

Abu Dhabi Renewable Energy

MASDAR CITY 25 April 2023 — Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso A. Ver was warmly welcomed by H.E. Mohamed Jameel Ismail Alramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar at its headquarters in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, UAE on 25 April 2023. A world leader in the renewable energy sector, UAE's Masdar invests in cutting-edge renewable energy projects worldwide, forging partnerships for climate action.

According to Amb. Ver, "I had fruitful discussions today with Masdar CEO H.E. Alramahi with whom I shared that under the Marcos administration, the Philippine Government prioritizes renewable energy as a key growth area given that the Philippines is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change. We both agreed it is timely, with UAE's declaration that 2023 is the Year of Sustainability as it hosts COP28 later this November, for the Philippines and Masdar to work together and renew our commitment to partner towards concrete, viable renewable energy projects. Masdar's leading role in the renewable energy sector is renowned globally, and the Philippines could host projects in pioneering renewable energy areas, a collaboration that would further boost PH-UAE cooperation as we celebrate next year 50 years of robust diplomatic relations. Our discussions are an excellent start for the future of PH-UAE collaboration on renewable energy as we both committed to work together so that this partnership would materialize and result to concrete projects in the Philippines."
