PH Embassy Partners with Local Bar for Filipino Cocktail Week in Vienna

VIENNA, 04 May 2023 – In celebration of Filipino Food Month, the Philippine Embassy in Vienna, Austria partnered with Plus43, a popular speakeasy bar in Vienna, in organizing a Filipino Cocktail Week featuring cocktails specially concocted using standout Filipino liquors.  

From 25 to 29 April 2023, Plus43 served cocktails using three unique and distinct local liquors:  Destileria Barako’s Ube Cream Liqueur, Diageo's Don Papa Rum, and Destileria Limtuaco’s Manille Liqueur de Calamansi.  The event marked the first time that these Filipino liquors have been featured in a single event in Austria. 

Each of the five (5) cocktails - Violett Filipino; Kalamansi Surprise; Let’s Go Sago; Pinoy Breakfast Punch; and Going Bananas - highlighted the unique flavors of the featured Filipino liquors.  Destileria Barako's Ube Cream Liqueur is a rich and creamy liqueur made from the purple yam known as ube, Diageo's Don Papa Rum is a smooth and complex rum made from sugar cane grown on the island of Negros, and Destileria Limtuaco's Manille Liqueur de Calamansi is a tangy and sweet liqueur made from the local calamansi fruit.

This partnership with Plus43 is part of the Embassy's ongoing efforts to promote world-class Filipino products in the countries under its jurisdiction. END
