PH Embassy in Bahrain Repatriates Seven Distressed Filipinos

MANAMA 10 May 2023 –The Philippine Embassy, under its Repatriation Program for 2023, facilitated the repatriation of seven distressed Filipinos nationals, on 07 May 2023 via Gulf Air flight to Manila.

The repatriates consisted of overstaying workers and an individual with a medical condition. The Philippine Embassy arranged all the documents and clearances of the repatriates, and shouldered the cost of their airfare and immigration penalties through the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Fund of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Through the Embassy’s coordination with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and other relevant Philippine Government agencies, the repatriates were extended airport assistance upon their arrival in Manila. END
