Lapid (4th from right), Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), as they call on Mr. Rabih Elie Karam (5th from left), Group CEO of Al Ain Holding, to explore possible investment collaboration in the tourism, leisure and hospitality sector. Al Ain Holdings is a real estate pioneer in the UAE that operates state-of- the-art hotels and resorts such as the Jumeirah Beach InterContinental Fujairah Resort. The TIEZA delegation is in Abu Dhabi to take part in the Annual Investment Meeting 2023 (AIM Global 2023), and to meet with prospective UAE investors. According to Amb. Ver, "It is a pleasure to note that the Philippines is increasingly becoming an attractive investment, trade and tourism destination for the UAE, since the signing of the PH-UAE Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement (IPPA), as well as the PH-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) currently being discussed between the two sides. The visit of TIEZA COO Mark Lapid, as well as the warm reception by UAE entities bodes well for closer trade and investment ties between the Philippines and the UAE. It is my hope that more and more UAE companies invest in the Philippines given the huge potential that has yet to be fully realized."
