PH Ambassador, MOHRE Minister Dr. Al Awar Discuss Ways to Bring More Filipinos to UAE as Jobs Await

Abu Dhabi MOHRE

ABU DHABI 25 May 2023 — Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso A. Ver called on Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) Minister H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar to discuss ways both governments can facilitate the employment of more Filipino professionals and workers needed by the UAE in various sectors of the economy on 25 May 2023.

Numbering an estimated one million in the UAE, Filipinos have made this country their second home, and is considered the third largest expatriate population in this Gulf state. Min. Al Awar told Ambassador Ver that Filipinos are much sought after by companies across the UAE for their skills, talent, and education, and that their contribution to UAE economy and society is recognized.

According to Ambassador Ver, "I had fruitful discussions with Min. Al Awar on how the UAE and the Philippines can work together to match the host country's labor needs with our supply of talented Filipino professionals and workers. There is so much room for growth, at a time when businesses in the UAE are flourishing, helped largely by the host country's policy innovations and reforms. My hope is that more of my countrymen will be able to take advantage of the opportunities here in the UAE, a nation that is reaching for the stars in more ways than one." END
