PH Embassy Promotes Filipino Cuisine through Kulinarya Jordan

JORDAN 30 May 2023 — In celebration of the National Heritage Month, the Philippine Embassy in Amman organized the "Filipino Food Bazaar", a joint project with Filipino community partners under the banner of Kulinarya Jordan. Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Wilfredo C. Santos and Madame Geraldine C. Lucero-Santos led the one-day community event on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Philippine Embassy grounds.

Kulinarya Jordan is a platform initiated by the Embassy in support of the Filipino community in Jordan. Its primary purpose is to increase awareness of Filipino cuisine as an integral part of Philippine cultural heritage to entice tourists and promote our country as a tourist and investment destination.

Ambassador and Madame Santos, together with Embassy officials and Kulinarya partners, officially opened the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A total of 20 Filipino community members who are in the food catering business in Jordan formed the inaugural Kulinarya team. Various traditional dishes showcasing the best of Filipino cuisine took center stage, such as beef caldereta, vegetable spring rolls, chicken adobo, binagoongan, pansit, chicken inasal, fresh lumpia, and ube sorbetes, among others. The event gathered around 300 guests including members of the diplomatic corps in Amman, the Filipino community, and their families. It was an event that brought the community together in celebration of Filipino culture.

“Kulinarya Jordan is a brand, the vehicle that we hope our community led by our Kulinarya partners will embrace as their own brand in undertaking activities in the future, to make it community-driven”, Ambassador Santos said in his special remarks. END
