New York Mets Celebrate Filipino Heritage Night

PHOTO: New York Mets celebrated Filipino Heritage Night on Thursday, 29 June 2023 at Citi Fields, Queens New York. During the celebration, Philippine Consul General in New York Senen T. Manglile (upper right photo, leftmost) and four Filipino-American community leaders were recognized as "Mets Spirit Award Honorees" by the New York Mets for their remarkable contributions to the Filipino community. The following are four said Fil-Am community leaders:

1. Karesia Batan - founder and Executive Director of Queensboro Dance Festival, a platform for Queens’ underrepresented diversity of dancers;
2. Randy Gonzales - owner of Pineapple Industries which offers made-to-order, contemporary Barong Tagalog from the Philippines for formal and everyday use;
3. Maria Kaufer - Clinical Nutrition Coordinator at NYU Langone Health, and the only Filipino-American in the New York State Democratic Committee; and
4. Michelle Amor - Executive Director of National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) New York.
