23 June 2014 – Philippine Consul General in Los Angeles Leo Herrera-Lim visited the City Council of the City of Walnut, California on June 11.

The Council members, led by Mayor Antonio Cartagena, presented to Consul General Herrera-Lim a certificate welcoming him as the new Consul General of Los Angeles.  During the council session they honored the Filipino citizens of the City by recognizing Filipino Heritage Week from June 08 to 14, 2014.  

Consul General Herrera-Lim remarked that he was honored to have his fellow Filipinos cited by Walnut and the nation, stating that the Philippines share the same love of freedom that Americans do.

At the City of Walnut, Consul General Herrera-Lim also visited St. Lorenzo Ruiz Catholic Church and met with parish priest Tony P. Astudillo with members of the Filipino-American parish community.  END
