PH Embassy and Czech Chamber of Commerce Discuss Trade and Investments in Agriculture

PRAGUE 25 July 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to the Czech Republic Eduardo Martin R. Meñez met with Ms. Dana Večerová, President of the Federation of the Food and Drink Industries of the Czech Republic, and Mr. Petr Talafus, Deputy Director of the Foreign Department of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, in Prague on 21 July 2023 to discuss trade and investments in agriculture between the Philippines and the Czech Republic.

Minister and Consul General Indhira C. Bañares and Agriculture Attaché Kristine Yap joined the meeting.

The meeting followed through on the activities of the business delegations that accompanied the visits to the Philippines of Deputy Speaker Jan Skopeček and Prime Minister Petr Fiala in February and April 2023, respectively.

The officials likewise discussed upcoming events and joint activities to match Philippine and Czech companies in the agricultural and fisheries sectors; fresh and processed food and beverage industries; and in shipping, logistics and distribution.

Among the agricultural priorities of the Philippines are dairy, grain (wheat), and technologies to improve production and lessen post-harvest losses. END
