23 June 2014 - Smart Communications, Inc. Senior Manager Mr. Jonathan D. Huertas met with Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Alex G. Chua on June 18 to discuss Smart’s communications services provided to the international maritime industry.

Ambassador Chua expressed hope that more Philippine telecommunications companies will participate in Myanmar’s rapidly liberalizing telecommunications industry and its growing maritime industry.

Mr. Jonathan D. Huertas said Smart Communications, Inc. is taking note of the rapid developments in Myanmar, particularly, in its telecommunications and maritime industries.

Smart Telecommunications, Inc., a leading wireless service provider in the Philippines, is keen on introducing to Myanmar seafarers the communications services it provides to Filipino seafarers. With the Embassy’s Third Secretary Alan Roi Q. Gabriola and Economic Attaché Daniel T. Te, Mr. Huertas and his team also met with the officers of the Myanmar Seafarer Employment Services Federation and the Myanmar Seamen’s Federation on 19 June 2014.  END
