Students of PH School in Bahrain Participates in DFA’s Storytelling Activity in Celebration of Buwan ng Wika

High school students of the Philippine School Bahrain participated in the DFA’s online storytelling activity entitled, “Samot Saring Hiraya - Imagination Through Filipino Stories,” on 22 August 2023 in celebration of Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa.

BAHRAIN 29 August 2023 – Upon invitation by the Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, the Philippine School Bahrain (PSB) participated in the online storytelling concert organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs in partnership with Storyhouse Philippines, entitled, “Samot Saring Hiraya - Imagination Through Filipino Stories”, on 22 August 2023. The activity was held in celebration of Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2023.  Ten (10) classes of junior high school students from grades 7 to 10 of the PSB participated in the activity.  

The storytelling activity aimed to promote understanding and appreciation of Filipino folktales and stories, as well as enhance the cultural experience of Filipino traditions and values of Filipino children residing abroad. 

Ms. Ivy Simbala, Vice Principal of PSB, conveyed the school’s appreciation and commendation to the DFA for organizing the above activity that supplemented the school’s Filipino program. END
