PH Consulate General in Calgary Holds First ‘Manila Comes To Town’ Food Truck Festival In Edmonton

CALGARY 04 September 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary held its first “Manila Comes to Town” Food Truck Festival on 29 August 2023 at the parking lot of Holiday Inn Conference Centre Edmonton South in Edmonton, Alberta.
Two Edmonton-based Filipino food trucks, namely Flipside BBQ (specializing in fusion Filipino cuisine) and 6 A’s & J Food Truck (selling traditional Manila street food) took part in the one-day event, which was held in conjunction with the PCG’s ongoing consular outreach mission in Edmonton on 28 to 31 August 2023.
Consul General Zaldy B. Patron thanked those who supported the “Manila Comes to Town.”
“This project serves as another platform to increase the public’s awareness of Filipino cuisine and support Filipino-owned businesses,” he said.
The “Manila Comes to Town” happening in several cities in Canada is a joint project of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Philippine Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver spearheaded the project. END
