PH Ambassador to Thailand Meets Foster Child During YWCA’s “Foster Child Meet Foster Parents Day 2023”

BANGKOK 05 September 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Millicent Cruz Paredes, accompanied by her daughter Alexis Rebecca Paredes, participated in this year’s “Foster Child Meet Foster Parents Day” event at the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) Office in Sathorn Road, Bangkok on 26 August 2023.

Organized by YWCA of Bangkok, the event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps participating in the annual YWCA Diplomatic Charity Bazaar, participating schools, and other stakeholders. Foster children met their foster parents from the diplomatic corps, and scholarships were awarded to participating schools.

This is a part of YWCA of Bangkok’s Foster Child Care Project which aims to provide scholarships to underprivileged children from low-income and single-parent households. The Project, initiated in 1978 in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, has been running for 45 years. END
