Tanner Collection of Vintage Filipiniana Formally Bestowed on the PH Embassy in London

LONDON 29 September 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in London recently held a ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation which bestows to the Embassy the Rachel and Clare Tanner Collection of vintage Filipiniana and other items.

The Deed of Donation was signed by Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. and Mr. David Tanner on behalf of the Tanner family. Mr. Tanner’s daughter Clare and her family were also present during the event. 

After the signing ceremony, Ambassador Locsin accompanied Mr. Tanner and family in viewing the collection which is currently on exhibit at Sentro Rizal London.

The collection was acquired by Mr. Tanner and his family during their travels around the Philippines when they lived in Manila in the 70s, while Mr. Tanner was working for a multinational corporation. David and wife Jackie’s two daughters, Rachel and Clare -- after whom the collection is named -- were both born in the Philippines. END
